TIPS FROM THE PASTOR’S HEART
WELCOME ABOARD !
Scripture Reading: Mark 4 : 35—41
“Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I shall give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”
- Matthew 11: 28-30. (KJV)
Once again, I’d like to congratulate you on your successful arrival on board the Giant Vessel, 2009. There is no doubt at all that you have just started another voyage setting sail towards another designated ‘melting point’ between you and your Maker.
Brothers and sisters, you would’ve realised by now that God does not permit anything to happen except there is a purpose for it in His agenda. That tells you why God allows you to be among the people chosen for this journey. You should also know that Jesus Himself is present in this boat to ensure your personal safety and rest throughout the duration of the journey. Should I also let you know that this journey is not without some challenges that you may encounter along the way. Your victory on each of the challenges you are likely to encounter will depend largely on how you see the Jesus in the Boat. Many people will see this Jesus as just one of the passengers on board, some will see Him as an important personality that merely attracts attention but with no influence whatsoever upon their lives. Many will view Jesus as someone to associate with just to look important in the eyes of observers but with no personal connection. Very few will look unto the same Jesus as the Author and Finisher of their faith, and that without Him in their lives; theb y will not embark on anything. Let me ask you friend, to which category do you belong? Jesus has invited you to a place of rest this year according to what He is saying in Matt. 11: 28-30. He is in the Boat with you so that He might be able to rise up and rebuke any stormy situation that may come your way. Will you be ready to allow Him do just that without you doubting His ability or struggling to take over from Him? The choice is yours. The word of God says; “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8: 31). Jesus said to those that were in same boat with Him when storm arose that they lacked the needed faith that could earn them the expected breakthrough (Mark 4: 40).
Do you see yourself achieving your ultimate ambition with God’s help this New Year? If so keep your faith intact for that is all you need to succeed in this new dispensation. May you really be fulfilled in 2009 in Jesus’ mighty name. AMEN.
